Mount Gambier Racecourse

Mount Gambier races are held at the Allan Scott Glenburnie Racecourse which is 440 km south east of Adelaide. The Mount Gambier Racing Club holds around 15 meetings a year and is a full time training centre.

The Mount Gambier track had a $3.3 million redevelopment in 2018 which had problems because the grass wasn’t growing well enough. This meant many meetings  including the Mount Gambier Gold Cup weren’t run

Major Mount Gambier Races

Major race days are a December twilight meeting, their Summer Cup held in January and the Mount Gambier Cup Carnival held in March.

There are no black-type races.

Getting to Mount Gambier Races

The best way to get to the races at Mount Gambier is to drive. It is an approx 4.5 hours drive from Adelaide or five hours from Melbourne and there is plenty of parking at the racecourse and nearby.
