Horse Racing Tips : VIC Saturday 28th October 2023

Our Moonee Valley Horse Racing Tips for Saturday’s meeting.

Key Comments

They normally get the much maligned Moonee Valley track pretty spot on for Cox Plate Day. I expect it to play fairly. Great days racing ahead.

Best Bet

Verdad (Moonee Valley Race 7 No. 3)

His three career runs have been full of merit.  Sat on a strong speed on debut and ran away from a strong maiden field.  Held up at a key stage in the Stutt then ate the line late to just miss the Guineas winner Griff.  Then victim of a slow tempo when forced back from the wide gate in the Guineas and again ate the line.  The little risk is he is getting deep into his first prep, however I think he’s ready to explode here at 2000m.

$2.70

Best Each Way

Osmose (Moonee Valley Race 3 No. 3)

Dragged back from the wide gate first up and did a good job to make up some ground on a day where it was tough to do so.  One would think she would be ridden a lot closer here second up with Tim Clark in the saddle. Think she can win.

$8.50

Best Lay

Wishlor Lass (Moonee Valley Race 3 No. 2)

Nice mare but looks too short at the current quote with the 59kg.

Key Comments The track is rated Good and the rail is in the true position. Best Bet Geeijo (Strathalbyn Race 2 No. 7) Did a lot wrong before making late ground for 4th at Murray Bridge when fresh. Was runner-up at Gawler at his only second-up attempt and looks well-placed here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each Way Little Rich Boy (Strathalbyn Race 8 No. 4) Won by over 4 lengths at Gawler 2

Key Comments 7 race card with the best and next best in the final 2 races of the day. Budler has a strong book and is the jockey to follow. Best Bet Prophet Time (Queanbeyan Race 7 No. 9) Good last start win in a Class 1 and has been subject to strong market support. Should giver this race a shake and while the record at the track is a worry it is showing much more form these days. Check odds on

Key Comments The track is rated Heavy and the rail is +8 metres the entire circuit. Best Bet Slippin' Jimmy (Sunshine Coast Race 2 No. 1) Last start winner over 1200m at Kilcoy and has won at Sunshine Coast before. Has drawn the inside barrier and should be hard to beat. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each Way Merchant Flyer (Sunshine Coast Race 8 No. 5) He made ground late for a 1.3 length

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 19th May 2024

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Best Bet Weldborough (Devonport Race 9 No. 3) Won by 2.5 lengths over
