Great Duchess (Flemington Race 3 No. 2)
This five-year-old mare is in great form with two wins from her last two starts. She finished last campaign with a 0.3 length win over 1400m at Caulfield on 1 February where she chased hard to take the lead at the 100m and was strong through the line. She resumed with a 0.75 length win over 1200m at Caulfield on 30 May where she joined the lead at the 150m and edged clear over the last 100m. She has won up to 1600m and should be very hard to beat here.

Prezado (Flemington Race 9 No. 2):
This Denman gelding is in great form with three wins from his last three starts. He ran on strongly out wide to get up on the line and win by 0.2 lemgth over 1000m at Flemington on 16 may, then wwas slowly away but took over at the 125m and won by 0.75 lengths over 1000m at Flemington on a soft track on 6 June. He is worth an each-way bet at the current price.

Danon Roman (Flemington Race 1 No. 2):
This Deep Impact gelding is the early favourite for this provincial plate over a mile. At the end of last campaign he chased steadily for 2.75 lengths 6th over 2000m at Flemington on 11 January, then resumed for 1.9 lengths 6th over 1400m at Caulfield on 30 May where he made steady ground between runners. He has never won second-up or at this track, and does not look like value.
