Mahamedeis should be close to full fitness now and produced his best run of the preparation last start at Caulfield in the Easter Cup. He moved into the race stylishly on the turn only to be collared late by two horses that would be short odds here. He gets in extremely well at the weights and will only have to hold his form to be winning.

This lightly raced four year-old mare is flying this preparation. She has finished in top two at her last four runs including last start at Bendigo when she was unsuited by a slow tempo but still stormed home to run second. She is drawn to get a soft run from barrier four and with even luck can be fighting out the finish.

Starry Legend (Caulfield Race 6 No. 2):
Unbeaten colt Starry Legend has come up as the early favourite in race six. He was impressive winning at Sandown on debut, then held them off at Bendigo last start. He meets some well credentialed two year-old’s this time around and try’s 1200m for the first time which is some query. Can win but is short enough.
