Horse Racing Tips : VIC Saturday 12th August 2023

Our Moonee Valley Horse Racing Tips for Saturday’s meeting.

Key Comments

The meeting here two weeks had a severe leader bias.  The rail goes back into the true on Saturday which will hopefully give horses more chance of running on.  Damian Oliver, Michael Dee and Jordan Childs are all flying and are jockeys to follow on this card and into the spring.

Best Bet

Twin Perfection (Moonee Valley Race 2 No. 4)

Phillip Stokes trained gelding looking to make it three wins in a row. Maps to sit just off them here in the run and I think he can prove too strong again late to bring up the hat-trick.

$3.40

Best Each Way

Pride Of Sullivan (Moonee Valley Race 1 No. 8)

Was an impressive debut winner at Swan Hill.  Times and margins were good and the form has stacked right up out of that. Jump out in between runs was slick and the Hayes / Dee combo is airborne.

$5

Best Lay

Lakota Fire (Moonee Valley Race 1 No. 3)

Started $60-1 on debut and was safely held, then won an easier race in Adelaide last start.  Can’t get my head around the current price.  It surely has to drift.
