Our Moonee Valley Horse Racing Tips for Friday nights meeting.
The feature event is the Listed Torney Night Cup (race 4) over 2500m.
Elderflower (Moonee Valley Race 5 No. 4)
Lindsey Smith’s speed machine Elderflower will be looking to make it three wins in a row when he lines up in heat 13 of the 55 second challenge on Friday night. He has been dominant from the front at his last two starts. On January 13 he won by 2.75 lengths at Caulfield and then a week later won by 3.5 lengths at this course/distance. He should be able to find the front again and take a power of running down.

Wilsdorf (Moonee Valley Race 6 No. 6):
I thought this three year-old son of Unencumbered’s maiden victory at Geelong last start was full of merit – he sat outside the lead there and was powerful through the line. Here he maps to get a nice run in behind the speed and the step up to 1600m should be to his liking. He looks a progressive type and I think he can make his presence felt in a winnable benchmark 64.

Resurge (Moonee Valley Race 3 No. 4):
Resurge has come up as the early favourite in race three on Friday night. He was a touch unlucky when running fourth here over 2040m on January 22, however this is not an overly strong race and he seems rock bottom odds for a horse that has only won three races from twenty three attempts. Happy to risk him.
