Our Launceston Racing Tips for Wednesdays meeting.
The feature races are the $250,000 Launceston Cup (race 8), the Vamos Stakes (race 9) and the Mowbray Stakes(race 7).
War Correspondent (Launceston Race 5 No. 1)
This Time For War gelding looks well-placed in this 3YO Classic with three wins and four places from his seven starts. He was far too good for the rest when he won a 3YO Cup by 2.75 lengths over 1200m at Launceston on 21 November, then after a 10 week break he did best for a o.2 length win over 1100m at Hobart on 5 February. Should win again here.

Gee Gee Lanett (Launceston Race 6 No. 7):
This six-year-old mare has had 49 starts for 11 wins and 23 places. She finished 1.75 lengths 2nd over 1100m at Launceston on 20 January, then led narrowly but was outsprinted in the run to the line when 1, 0.5 lengths 3rd over 1100m at Hobart on 5 February. She is never far away and with four of her wins over this track and distance she is a good each-way bet.

I’m A Floozy (Launceston Race 3 No. 8):
This four-year-old Toorak Toff mare is the early favourite in this Class 1 handicap over 1200m. She finished 1.25 lengths 4th over 1220m at Launceston on 16 January, then died on her run when 7.6 lengths 6th over 1100m at Hobart on 24 January. I feel she should be going back in distance and not up, and she appears to be a false favourite.

Black bookers from last Saturday's Blue Diamond Stakes meeting at Caulfield. Black Booker #1 San Huberto (Race 1) A nice return from San Huberto in the Mornington Cup Prelude. He had to lump 60kg on Saturday and was only beaten narrowly by the inform Defibrillate over a distance clearly short of his best. He started $5 in the Prix Kergorlay in France on August 23. That race often produces horses that run well in the Melbourne Cup which is a good indication that he has some real
