Our Launceston Racing Tips for Wednesdays meeting.

The main races is the $150,000 Gold Sovereign Stakes (Race 5).

Sparkling One (Launceston Race 4 No. 6)
This four-year-old mare has two wins and three places from eight starts. She resumed from a 16 week spell with a 6.5 length win over 1150m at Devonport Tapeta Synthetic on 11 January, then raced away for a 5.75 length win over 1100m at Hobart on 24 January. Drops 2.5 kg from last run and looks too quick for these.

Each Way

We Need A Star (Launceston Race 3 No. 1):
This five-year-old Needs Further gelding has had 13 starts for one win and six places. He worked home from well back for 4.35 lengths 6th over 1220m at Launceston on 16 January, then was last to the turn and chased hard for 2.5 lengths 2nd over 1220m at Launceston on 27 January. The extra distance should be in his favour and he looks worth an each-way bet.

Best Lay

Tough Boy (Launceston Race 7 No. 3):
This four-year-old gelding is the early favourite in this BM 74 handicap over 1600m. He finished 1, 0.5 lengths 3rd over 1400m at Launceston on 8 January on 8 January, then was outsprinted to the line for 2.1 lengths 4th over 1220m at Launceston on 16 January. He is untried at the distance and others offer better value.

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 16th June 2024

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Best Bet Es And Es (Devonport Race 5 No. 1) He ran on

Horse Racing Tips: NT Sunday 16th June 2024

Key Comments The sand track is rated Good and the weather is fine. The rail is in the true position. Best Bet Altar Boy (Alice Springs Race 4 No. 3) He was well-backed at this track and distance last start and won by 6.5 lengths. Rates highly with Stan Tsaikos retaining the ride, and can win again. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each Way Arrogant Miss (Alice Springs Race 2 No. 6) She placed

Horse Racing Tips: QLD Sunday 16th June 2024

Key Comments The track is rated soft and the rail is +7 metres from the 400m to the winning post; then +9 metres for the remainder. This is the same as it was on Friday. Best Bet Ella's World (Sunshine Coast Race 5 No. 7) Chasing a hat-trick after wins at Werribee and Sunshine Coast. She ran on strongly from well back over 1600m last start and the extra 200m should suit. Big chance. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Sunday 16th June 2024

Key Comments Large 10 race card to take place. The track is in the heavy range and the rail is out 5 metres. The best bet kicks things off in the first and is at a short quote but should prove hard to beat. Best Bet Shogun Express (Moe Race 1 No. 3) Has been racing in good fashion and this race suits. A lot to like about the last start second and the wide draw will come in due to the large
