Our Launceston Horse Racing Tips for Sunday
Key Comments
Rail: +11m 1200m-W/Post; +7m Remainder
Surface: Soft 6
Notes: First meeting back in Launceston and the rail starts a long way out. Usually a track where those on-speed or on the rail are advantaged, particularly early in the meeting over the sprint trips (due to the shape of the track, and short home-straight). When rain hits the track it can really chop out and they can move towards the outside fence.
Jockeys to follow:
– Brendon McCoull: 18.1%SR @ 18.1% POT @ Launceston
Trainers to follow:
– Glenn Stevenson: 15.8% SR @ Launceston
– Sarah Cotton: 17.2% @ 35.4% POT @ Launceston
Best Bet
Thoros of Myr (Launceston Race 1 No. 1)
Think this is the good thing of the day. Trialled well before resuming here and should lead these and dictate the race. McCoull, Trinder and Launceston – my three favourite things!
$1.80
Best Each Way
Wane’s Quest (Launceston Race 8 No. 3):
Ticking along nicely this campaign. Finds a pretty even bunch here and with Siggy sticking and a lack of speed I can see him controlling the race from a middle draw and giving a strong kick on the turn for home. Hope he can hold them off!
$5.50 (At time of writing) – keen to back on a 2×3 each-way basis.
Best Lay
Rue De Palais (Launceston Race 6 No. 3):
Anchors the market due to his SP profile and last start, all-the-way win. Not convinced that race will be one to follow. Think PRINCESS MATOAKA is the one to beat – looks to have come back well if trial is anything to go by.
LAY (WIN) for 1 unit at < $2.80
