Hot race but I’ve got a lot of time for this 4yo who has won five from seven career starts. Eagle Farm seems the perfect track for this talented galloper after producing a run which was full of merit at the Gold Coast last start. He was never on the track from a wide gate on that occasion but draws better here in two with senior rider Robbie Fradd taking the ride. While gate two does look appealing on paper, he doesn’t have much early speed so it’ll be a case of tucking him away and finding clear air at the right time in the straight.

Next Best | Race 5 #5 Delexo

Very interesting galloper in the Class 6 Plate over 1000m. Trained at Wyong by Kristen Buchanan, this son of Exosphere travels north in what I assume is an attempt to dodge the wet tracks of Sydney. It’s well-known Eagle Farm is an unflappably firm surface, so Delexo gets the good going that he’s likely looking for. He’s third-up here and should be peaking, draws nicely in two and is a progressive horse with better performances to come.

Best Each Way | Race 7 #2 Enterprise Pomme

Happy to forgive the last start failure when she was trapped wide in the rich 3yo Jewel race at the Gold Coast last start. She had a bad draw and was forced to settle just better than midfield before dropping out to finish 11th of 14. In the smaller field this time I’m sure they’ll be looking to use her gate speed and spear straight to the front.
