Best bet | R7 #13 Better Get Set

Talented mare building a good record and I expect her to add another win to her resume here. She’s found the perfect race and is drawn to get an economical run from gate three. The key here is top jockey Ben Thompson jumping aboard, and he should give her every chance. She was inclined to hang last start when running fourth when first-up on an unsuitable heavy track. She goes well at this track and I think she found a very suitable race.

I still can’t believe he got beaten when we were on at nice odds in the Weetwood last start at Toowoomba. He’s now third-up and should peaking for this assignment in a similar class, but much smaller field. With only five rivals he should be close enough in the run to finish over the top of them. He also meets Axe much better at the weights for that narrow defeat last start. He’s also proven at Eagle Farm, only missing the top three twice from 10 attempts.

I simply don’t think this talented mare handled the heavy track last start at the Gold Coast. She’s a winner second-up and unbeaten at this Eagle Farm circuit where she beat Kosciusko hopeful Far Too Easy. She’s got a wide gate to contend with but expect her to be rattling home hard out wide at the business end.

I think this bloke is way over the odds around the $80 mark. He was slow to begin when first-up at the Sunshine Coast but rocketed home to beat all but the smart Amity Gal. He’s a new horse to the unheralded Erhart stable from Kris Lees and is not without a hope at the massive odds.
