Best bet – Race 6 #1 Spiritualised

I’m surprised the price has held up for Spiritualised as he looks over the odds even at the $2.70 mark. Trainer Tony Gollan has declared this his best hope for the day and he should get across from the wide gate and give a strong kick in the straight. He returns after a three month spell and trialled well in preparation for his return. Jimmy Orman rode him in that trial and is on again here for his race return. There are plenty of ticks in his favour and he should get through the drying track.

Next best – Race 4 #6 Street Dancer

Absolutely ready to win. He’s third-up and set to peak off two strong efforts over unsuitable distances since resuming this preparation. He loves this track and distance and from barrier one and 54kg with Michael Cahill aboard, he should get the perfect run. He has returned in magnificent order this campaign and put the writing on the wall that it won’t take long before he tastes victory this time in. This looks a race in two with Aussie Nugget but Street Dancer looks to have a touch of class and should benefit from the lightweight.

Best each way | Race 9 #2 Stroll

The Listed Mode Stakes is the final race on the program and features unbeaten boom filly Chinny Boom. But she comes up against a strong field which includes classy types such as Stroll, who I think is a great chance of running a big race. Two starts ago she won a listed event before being sent for a break, subsequently returning with a sound third placing at this track three weeks ago. She will strip fitter for that performance and looks well-placed to test red-hot favourite Chinny Boom. She will get back from the slightly wide gate but power home at the end.
