Best bet | Race 4 #5 Glitter Strip

This mare excels on a soft track, and in the small field should be able to keep in touch with the pack before powering late. She’s been ultra consistent this preparation and is bursting to win a race, and I reckon the soft track should be just what she needs to break through. Her record at the track – and at this distance – is very strong, and wide gate is no concern. She should have a bit too much class for this lot.

Next best | Race 1 #1 For My Annie

Pleased to see jockey Jimmy Orman stick with For My Annie after the pair had no luck here last start. He was held up at a crucial stage and barely found clear air when running fourth. It was a gallant effort to finish fourth, beaten just under two lengths. He’s drawn well in a middle draw and the step up to 1200m suits. The soft ground should also be no issue.

Best each way | Race 5 #4 Mob Buster

First start for the new barn here and comes off a nice trial behind open class galloper Racecourse Road. He’s a winner first-up and also a winner on soft ground. Near the end of his last preparation he wasn’t beaten far behind Ayrton at G3 level. That was one highlight of a brilliant campaign, in which he won three times and never missed a place from six starts. He’ll be ultra competitive here.
