Best bet | Race 4 #1 Mokulua

On the Queensland Oaks trail but reckon she can knock this race off along the way. She looks extremely hard to beat off her strong southern form, which includes being beaten less a length two starts ago in a G2 at Flemington. Subsequent to that run she failed on the soft ground in the G1 Vinery. She’s got a wide draw and there is a few sprinkles of rain forecast – so she does needs a good ride from Cassidy and for the heavens to stay mostly closed. Both are very likely.

Next best | Race 9 #3 Never No More

This horse has been itching to win a race in Queensland since the stable change. The key here is Bayliss taking over from the apprentice and expect him to be a bit more aggressive and hold a spot hopefully around midfield. He hasn’t won for quite some time but he’s building to a win and this looks suitable if he can sit a bit closer in the run. He will be strong at the finish and can run over the top of his rivals.

Best each way | Race 6 #14 Stolen Jade

Hoping the Clarry Conners stable can enjoy success earlier in the day with Mokulua and then follow it up here with Stolen Jade. This girl is no stranger to racing in the sunshine state after coming north for the Magic Millions carnival last year where she ran well. Whilst she won on a heavy two starts ago, she’s better suited on drier ground and she should get that here, with the forecast predicting only a few showers at worst. This is easier and from the good gate she should get every chance with Brad Stewart aboard.
