Best bet – Race 1 #3 Kingston’s Here

Hoping we can get the cash here early with a galloper who has shown plenty of promise throughout the early days of his career. I reckon the key has been the blinkers coming off – and it showed in his dominant last start Sunshine Coast win where he travelled beautifully to score  effortlessly.  He performs well here at Doomben, never missing the top three and only falling short to the talented Starosa and Fleet Dove. Admittedly, this is a step up from his ‘easy kill’ last start, but he has the potential to score again if he can out it altogether once more.

Next best – Race 3 #4 Soaring Ambition

No flash odds but this 2yo filly should be winning if she runs anywhere near up to her debut win. Trained by the red-hot Annabel Neasham, she was hugely impressive when overcoming a wide gate and trouble in the run to win the  Magic Millions qualifier at Wyong on debut. Gun hoop Tommy Berry sticks and she’s drawn a better gate here. Hard to see her getting beat.

Best each-way – Race 9 #2 Nudge

The class horse of the field, and while this is short of her best distance, I wouldn’t be surprised to see her run well as she simply doesn’t know how to run a bad race.  She gets in well with the 57.5kg and with Nash Rawiller on board and barrier seven, she should get a charmed run and finish strongly. She’s also a proven good traveller and won at this track at her only start – she’ll defy her $15 quote.
