Our Wyong Horse Racing Tips for Wednesdays meeting.

The main race (race 5) is the Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic.

Segrill (Wyong Race 6 No. 4)
This four-year-old Sebring mare has three wins and four places from 19 starts. She resumed from a 20 week spell for 2.16 lengths 5th over 1300m at Hawkesbury on 11 November, then took over approaching the turn and held on for a 0.1 length win over 1600m at Wyong on 26 November. With two wins from two tries at this track and distance and a good third-up record, she looks the likely winner.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Sedona (Wyong Race 4 No. 4):
This four-year-old Bel Esprit gelding has two wins and two places from ten starts. At the end of last campaign he had trouble getting a run and finished 9.4 lengths 7th over 1100m at Wyong on 18 June, where he had the best 800m-400m race sectional, then he resumed after 22 weeks for 0.6 lengths 4th over 1100m at Warwick Farm on 25 November where he didn’t get the clearest of runs. He has drawn the inside barrier and looks a nice each-way chance.

Best Lay

Barbaric (Wyong Race 5 No. 3):
This three-year-old I Am Invincible colt has won two of his three starts and is the early favourite in this Magic Millions 3&4YO set weights and penalties race over 1200m. He resumed after 19 weeks with a 1.8 length win in a maiden plate over 1100m at Kensington on 19 February, then survived a protest from the 3rd horse to win the Group 3 Black Opal over 1200m at Canberra on 8 March by 0.16 length. He is first-up here after 40 weeks and won a recent Randwick trial. This is quite a tough race and I am prepared to risk him.
