Our Hawkesbury Horse Racing Tips for Wednesdays meeting.

Wardaddy (Hawkesbury Race 4 No. 8)
This three-year-old Panzer Division gelding trained by Kris Lees has a win and a place from his two starts. He debuted with a 4.2 length win in a maiden handicap on heavy going over 1000m at Taree on 28 June, then was spelled for 16 weeks. When resuming he was grabbed late for 0.2 length 2nd over 1010m at Port Macquarie on 24 October. Has had a flying start to his career and should be hard to beat here.

Demanding Mo (Hawkesbury Race 5 No. 4):
This five-year-old Uncle Mo gelding trained by Theresa Bateup at Kembla Grange has two wins and two places from 10 starts. Resuming after 75 weeks away from the track he was trapped four wide with no cover and finished 8.1 lengths 8th in the Mollymook Cup over 1200m at Nowra on 17 October, then held on for 2.7 lengths 3rd over 1212m at Sapphire Coast on 28 October. Should be fitter now and looks a nice each-way chance.

Best Lay

Tea Leaves (Hawkesbury Race 6 No. 6):
This three-year-old Sebring gelding trained by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott has a win and two places from six starts. He hit the front at the 200m but was run down late for 0.8 length 2nd over 1900m at Gosford on 7 October, then was wide with no cover in the early stages and was beaten straightening to finish 19.6 lengths 9th of 10 over 2000m on heavy going at Kembla Grange on 23 October after starting favourite.  Don’t think he offers value here.

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Key Comments The best bet is in the first and was explosive on debut. Expecting all to have their chance on this track that usually plays fair. Best Bet What A Cross (Sale Race 1 No. 10) Big finale on debut and looms at likeable odds here. Was smacked in betting then and almost pulled off the plunge when flying to the line. Looks a huge chance here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker
