Smuggler’s Bay (Bathurst Race 5 No. 2)
This three-year-old Squamosa gelding trained by Ron Weston & John Nisbet at Canberra is unbeaten in his two runs. On debut he led all the way for an easy 2.55 length win in a maiden plate over 1000m at Wagga on 6 May, then led all the way again for a 1.52 length win in a class 1 handicap over 1000m at Albury on 24 May. Is the main chance again and will be hard to beat.

Khitaamy (Bathurst Race 6 No. 6):
This six-year-old Delago Deluxe gelding trained by Carmen Murnane at Gosford has two wins and 13 places from 38 starts. Following a six week let-up he plugged home for 6.56 lengths 7th over 1000m at Port Macquarie on 26 April, then hit the front at the 200m but was outgunned in the final 75m for 0.51 length 2nd over 1000m at Tamworth on 17 May. Likely to race on the speed and is a good each-way chance again.

Telfer (Bathurst Race 7 No. 4):
This four-year-old Dalakhani gelding trained by Jeff Englebrecht at Wyong is the early favourite in this BM 58 handicap over 1800m. He crossed over to lead on the rails then kicked and kept going for a 1.55 length win on a heavy track over 1600m at Taree on 11 May, then hit the front at the top of the striaght but was outgunned in the final 100m for 2.72 lengths 5th over 1600m at Taree on 24 May. He is up in distance and has drawn wide and offers no value here.
