Our Kembla Grange Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Royalzel (Kembla Grange Race 2 No. 6):
This three-year-old Snitzel colt trained by Gary Portelli has three wins from five starts. He sprinted quickly to find the front at the 230m and kept going for a 1.2 length win on a heavy track over 1500m at Rosehill on 19 June, then eased wide at the 400m and ran on strongly to go clear over the last 150m for a 3 length win in the Listed Taj Rossi Final over 1600m at Flemington on 3 July. Has James McDonald riding and will be very tough to beat.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

The Storm In Me (Kembla Grange Race 1 No. 9):
This three-year-old Press Statement filly trained by Tim McIntosh at Muswellbrook has two wins and three places from six starts. She chased solidly for 1.6 lengths 3rd over 1200m at Scone on 26 July, then eased wide approaching the turn and chased solidly before hitting the front at the 200m and racing away for a 2.6 length win over 1280m at Muswellbrook on 13 August. This will be harder than a race on her home track, but she looks a nice each-way chance in this Highway Class 2 Handicap.

King Of Sparta (Kembla Grange Race 8 No. 8):
This three-year-old I Am Invincible gelding trained by Peter & Paul Snowden is the early favourite in this BM 88 handicap over 1200m. He raced fiercely in the middle stages then was checked off heels at the 600m and only got clear late for 2.7 lengths 6th over 1200m at Rosehill on 24 July, then found the front at the 150m and raced away for an impressive 3.3 length win over 1200m at Kembla Grange on 14 August.  Likely to settle back in the field and is untested in heavy going. Others offer better value.

Horse Racing Tips: SA Saturday 18th May 2024

Key Comments There are 9 races on the Parks circuit. The track is rated good and the rail is +3 metres from the 1000m -to the winning post and true for the remainder. Best Bet Easy Campese (Morphettville Race 3 No. 4) Easy Campese has been runner-up at his last 3 races and is ready to win. With the 2kg claim for Alana Livesay he will only carry 52.5 kg down from 59kg last start and hopefully that will make all the difference.
