Enchanted Heart | (Royal Randwick Race 4 No. 3)

Happy to back this Shamus Award mare who is a deadset mudlark. The form reads two zero’s over her past two starts but she was against Group 2 and Group 1 company on firm surfaces, so she was very much out of her depth. Her first up run behind Surreal Step was very good when she was wide throughout on the heavy surface, yet still finished 1.4 lengths back in fourth. She is 0/7 at Randwick but she has excuses in most of those starts including a bleed, being lame firm tracks, and being outclassed. This is a perfect setup for her as she gets a small field so she won’t be too far off them, the best wet track rider in Jason Collett is aboard, wet track and a thin quality field. This is her’s for the taking.

Running Bear | (Royal Randwick Race 2 No.11)

Last time we bet in a Highway race, this girl chased out pick home. She gave our pick on the day a show but had to settle for a 1.2 length second, whilst easily holding off the rest of the field. She gets a very similar setup here whilst stepping up to the mile and there isn’t much speed in the race, so she should be able to get the gun run throughout. She actually drops 1kg from last start’s effort thanks to Reece Jone’s claim and I think she is ready to take that step back up in distance and for her to be competitive once again.

Current Price: $4.00

Best Bet Typhoon Taavi (Eagle Farm Race 3 No. 3) This mare from the Tony Gollan stable has won her last 2 races by big margins. Horse Racing Tips: VIC Friday 3rd May 2024

Key Comments The rail is true. The best bet is off the back of a strong second placing and looks hard to hold out launching from the good draw. Best Bet Red Red Wine (Echuca Race 8 No. 5) He has been hard to catch lately but was keen on him earlier this prep when he was smashed in the market and ran on well in a higher grade than this. Gets his chance in this field and should relish the drop in
