Our Grafton Horse Racing Tips for Mondays meeting.
Flying Pretty (Grafton Race 2 No. 5)
This five-year-old Bernadini mare trained by Paul Smith at Coffs Harbour has two wins and 10 places from 32 starts and has ran well at all three starts this preparation. Second-up she moved up to hit the front approaching the turn and kept going for a 2.59 length win over 1310m at Lismore on 9 February, then she chased solidly for 0.4, 0.65 lengths 3rd over 1200m at Port Macquarie on 4 March. She looks ready to win this fillies and mares BM 58 handicap.

Each Way
King Farouk (Grafton Race 4 No. 5):
This five-year-old Poet’s Voice gelding trained by Owen Glue at Lismore has had 11 starts for three places. He chased solidly and had to be steadied after improving onto heels at the 50m and finished 1.1 lengths 4th but should have been closer over 1106m at Grafton on 2 March, then battled on fairly for 3.99 lengths 4th over 1420m at Grafton on 1420m. Stepping up in distance here he has drawn ideally in barrier 2 and gets blinkers on for the first time. He will be fitter third-up and looks a solid place chance.

Best Lay
Helmet Head (Grafton Race 10 No. 6):
This four-year-old Helmet gelding trained by Matthew Dunn at Murwillumbah is the early favourite in this C&G BM 58 handicap over 1425m. At the end of last campaign he finished 4 lengths 5th in a Gold Coast Class 1 plate over 1800m on 3 November. Resuming from a spell he made some ground in the straight for 4.46 lengths 5th over 1215m at Grafton on 14 March. He rises in trip here and offers no value.
