Our Mornington Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Diamondsandbubbles (Mornington 6 No. 1)
This six-year-old Commands mare is trained by David Brideoake at Mornington. She resumed from a 17 week spell with 10.15 lengths 10th over 1400m on a heavy track at Pakenham Park on 16 October where she never looked likely, then she ran 5.25 lengths 2nd in the Peninsula Cup over 1600m at Mornington on 1 November. The 3 kg claim will help and she looks the likely winner.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Kuzco Star (Mornington Race 7 No. 2):
This Zoustar gelding trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott has three wins and four places from 10 starts. He chased solidly the entire straight for 3.5 lengths 4th over 1400m at Geelong on 21 October, then sped out to lead to the turn and kicked clear for a 1.25 length win over 1500m at Mornington on 1 November. That gave him his 3rd win from his last 4 starts and he looks a nice each-way bet here.

Fundraiser (Mornington Race 8 No. 3 ):
This four-year-old Helmet gelding trained by Tom Dabernig and Ben Hayes is the early favourite in this BM 64 handicap over 1200m. He sped to the lead but was headed at the 300m and just plugged for 5.3 lengths 8th over 1400m at Flemington on 25 April before heading to the paddocks for a 25 week spell. He resumed for 2.75, 0.2 lengths 3rd over 1100m at Geelong on 21 October but hasn’t won second-up. Not a value bet.

Key Comments The track is Soft and the rail is +1 metre the entire circuit. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Best Bet Thespian Waters (Hobart Race 3 No. 1) Aiming for a hat-trick here after back-to-back wins at Launceston. He’s back to his
