Our Flemington Horse Racing Tips for Saturday’s meeting.

September Run (Flemington Race 6 No. 14)

September Run comes here second up off the back of a cracking first up run in the Lightning Stakes.  She was beaten for speed early but charged home to run second in the fastest last 400m split of the meeting.  Mounting yard watchers have indicated she had plenty of improvement to come too which only adds to her performance.  She is unbeaten over 1200m at Flemington (3/3) and this is a weaker field than what she faced first up.  Think only bad luck beats her on Saturday.

Moonlight Maid (Flemington Race 7 No. 4):

Making Moonlight Maid the best each way of the day.  We added her to black book following on from her first up run at Caulfield which was much better than the last place in the form guide suggests.  Visually she was very strong through the line and this was backed up on the clock – she posted the fastest last 200m split of the race.  The step up to 1600m suits as does the bigger track.

La Rocque (Flemington Race 1 No. 3):

John McArdle’s filly La Rocque has come up as a short price in race one on the card.  Her debut win at Pakenham was good but I’m always cautious of Pakenham form away from Pakenham.  It’s also her first time racing down the Flemington straight which is a whole new challenge, especially for a two year-old.  She can win but not for me at that price.
