Our Flemington Horse Racing Tips for Saturday’s meeting.

Lafargue (Flemington Race 1 No. 4) Tricky day to find a best but have settled on the 2 year old Lafargue who was scratched from a harder race at Caulfield last week to run here.  He has impressed in his two recent jump outs at Flemington and Werribee hitting the line strongly in both.  I like him drawn out in barrier ten and think he might have a class edge on his rivals here. $3.10

Each Way

Reykjavik (Flemington Race 8 No. 1): Reykjavik was luckless, when finishing sixth in last weeks Wangoom Handicap at Warrnambool for the second consecutive year.  Last year he spring boarded off that run to win an open handicap here at Flemington in wet conditions at his next start.  Appears to have found a winnable race to attempt to do the same thing again this year. $9

Best Lay

Surecan (Flemington Race 2 No. 8): Surecan has come up as the early favourite in race two.  She broke her maiden two back on a soft track at Ballarat, then worked home solidly behind Spring Break at Geelong in a benchmark 58 last time.  She takes a big step up in grade here and loses the services of John Allan.  Happy to risk. $4.20 You can place lay bets with Betfair

Key Comments The track is rated Soft and the rail is +9.5 metres the entire circuit. Best Bet Mannerheim (Ipswich Race 6 No. 6) He didn’t haven’t the best of luck last start when he got a heavy bump at the start and was tightened in the final stages, but he still managed to place. He has the speed to overcome drawing the widest barrier and rates highly. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson

Key Comments Expecting the track to suit those up on speed. The rail is true. Saving the best bet until last coming off the back of some solid placings and finds its self in the right race. Best Bet Smart Legend (Canterbury Race 8 No. 4) Excellent effort last start when taking the rails run and missing in a diving finish. This race is if anything, easier and with even luck from the barrier it can breakthrough for a well deserved win after
