Swats That (Caulfield Race 2 No. 3)
This Shamus Award filly trained by Leon and Troy Corstens has two wins and a place from her four starts. She chased hard for 0.75 length 2nd in the Listed Cap D’Antibes Stakes over 1100m at Flemington on 12 September, then took over at the 200m and raced away for a 2 length win in the Group 3 Scarborough Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley on 25 September. She will be tough to beat.

In Good Health (Caulfield Race 10 No. 7):
This five-year-old mare has had four wins this preparation for two wins and a place. She took over at the 300m and fought hard when challenged to hold on for a narrow win in the Listed Heatherlie Handicap over 1700m at Caulfield on 29 August, then fought on well for 1.6 lengths 4th in the Group 3 Naturalism Stakes over 2000m at Caulfield on 19 September. She has drawn nicely in barrier 2 and with regular jockey Luke Nolen looks worth an each-way bet.

Best Lay

Buffalo River (Caulfield Race 9 No. 15):
This Noble Mission gelding trained by Michael Moroney at Flemington is the early favourite in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap over 1600m. He has six wins and four places from 11 starts but is yet to race at Group or Listed level. He won over 1400m at Sandown Lakeside on a heavy track on 2 May before spelling. He resumed for 0.5 length 2nd over 1400m at Caulfield on a slow track on 26 September. Although he is very talented this is a substantial class rise and I don’t think he will win.
