Our Strathalbyn Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Lutz (Strathalbyn Race 7 No. 2)
This three-year-old  Panzer Division gelding trained by Richard and Chantelle Jolly has one win and one place from five starts. He worked home well making ground in the final 175m but was unable to reel in leader and finished 2.5 lengths 2nd over 1506m at Gawler on 16 May, then hit the front at the turn and came clear for a 4 length win over 2055m at Strathalbyn on 26 May to break his maiden. Jake Toerek retains the ride and he is a leading chance.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Canidae (Strathalbyn Race 8 No. 6):
This five-year-old Foxwedge gelding trained by John Hickmott at Murray Bridge has five wins and 14 places from 46 starts. He made some ground without threatening for 2.5 lengths 5th over 1600m at Balaklava on 12 May, then worked home strongly to gather in the leaders in the closing stages for a 0.8 length win over 1550m at Bordertown on 19 May. Has placed in 3 of his 4 previous runs at Strathalbyn and looks a good each-way chance again.

Best Lay

Sanbuck (Strathalbyn Race 6 No. 1):
This four-year-old Reward For Effort gelding is the early favourite in this BM 54 handicap over 1100m. He wasn’t fully tested late when 2.8 lengths 5th over 1050m at Balaklava on 12 May, then was held up from the turn to te 200m and battled evenly once clear for 3.1 lengths 5th over 1100m at Strathalbyn on 26 May. He has only won once from 20 starts and I’m prepared to risk him here.

Horse Racing Tips: NSW Saturday 18th May 2024

Key Comments 2nd day of the Scone Carnival. Plenty of features including the Woodlands Stakes (race 3), Denise Joy Stakes (race 6), Ortensia Stakes (race 7), the Dark Jewel Classic (race 8) and Luskin Star Stakes (race 9). Best Bet Jedibeel (Scone Race 10 No. 8) Lovely return effort when being backed off the map and showed off a fine turn of foot. Can go right on with things here and should get a nice tow into it from barrier 7. Hard to

Horse Racing Tips: SA Saturday 18th May 2024

Key Comments There are 9 races on the Parks circuit. The track is rated good and the rail is +3 metres from the 1000m -to the winning post and true for the remainder. Best Bet Easy Campese (Morphettville Race 3 No. 4) Easy Campese has been runner-up at his last 3 races and is ready to win. With the 2kg claim for Alana Livesay he will only carry 52.5 kg down from 59kg last start and hopefully that will make all the difference.

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Saturday 18th May 2024

Key Comments The rail is out 4 metres. The feature races include the Straight Six (race 7) and the Andrew Ramsden (race 8). The best bet looks well placed to bounce back and very hard to beat if finding its old form. Best Bet Niance (Flemington Race 3 No. 7) Had excuses last start when bungling the jump. Looks really hard to beat if finding its old form and there was so much to like about the wins prior. Looks way over the

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Friday 17th May 2024

Key Comments The rail is out 4 metres. The best bet comes up in the second race and is a very progressive type that can continue on its winning spree. Best Bet Affluential (Werribee Race 2 No. 4) Has been on a winning spree and showing no signs of slowing down. Should land in a beautiful spot from the draw and no reason to suggest it can't win again on the way to better races. Check odds on SmartB Analyst:
