Our Strathalbyn Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.
Mrs Mourinho (Strathalbyn Race 7 No. 10)
This three-year-old Smart Missile filly trained by Phillip Stokes has one wins and four place from 1o starts. After running 5.6 lengths 7th over 1250m at Morphettville on 13 February she was found to be sore in the back and pelvis region and had a 12 week break. On resuming she jumped badly and was a clear last until running on strongly and making up a lot of ground late for 2.5 lengths 4th over 1050m at Balaklava on 12 May. Looks ready to win.

Eurogem (Strathalbyn Race 8 No. 10):
This five-year-old Eurozone mare trained at the track has five wins and six places from 39 starts. She was running 4th before fading in the straight for 6.6 lengths 9th over 1430m at Naracoorte on 2 May, then was held up from the turn to the 150m before working home solidly for 2.4 lengths 4th over 1550m at Bordertown on 19 May. Should have been closer last start and looks a good each-way chance.

Pentire’s Spirit (Strathalbyn Race 4 No. 4):

Key Comments An evening meeting with the first race at 6.10 pm. The track is rated soft and the rail is +2 metres the entire circuit. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with an advantage to those who find the inside lanes in the straight.
