Our Bordertown Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Exalted Beast  (Bordertown Race 5 No. 1)
This four-year-old Good Journey gelding trained by Grant Young at Murray Bridge has four wins and a place from 12 starts. He hit the lead at the top of the straight and fought hard but was swamped in the final 50m for a length 4th over 2000m at Naracoorte on 2 May, then came away in the final 400m to win by an impressive 6.5 lengths over 2000m at Murray Bridge on 5 May. Will be very hard to beat.

Shock Alert (Bordertown Race 7 No. 2):
This seven-year-old Shocking gelding has six wins and nine places from 39 starts. He weakened out in the straight for 5.6 lengths 9th over 1430m at Naracoorte on 14 April, then settled 2nd and took over at the 200m to hold on for a narrow in over 1350m a Donald on 8 May. Has drawn the rails and is worth an each-way bet.

Canidae (Bordertown Race 6 No. 9):
This five-year-old Foxwedge gelding is the early favourite in this BM 58 handicap over 1550m. He chased gamely and made ground when 1.2, 0.3 lengths 3rd over 1500m at Gawler on 25 April, then battled away without threatening for 2.5 lengths 5th over 1600m at Balaklava on 12 May. Three of his four wins have been at this track but others look a better chance here.
