Our Gawler Racing Tips for the weekend.
Poysed To Rain (Gawler Race 1 No. 2)
This five-year-old Sepoy mare trained by Richard & Chantelle Jolly at Morphettville has four wins and four places from 15 starts. When resuming from a 25 week break she gathered in the leader at the 100m and came away for a 2.8 length win over 1250m at Morphettville Parks on 5 June, then made ground but peaked when steadied at the 150m and finished 3.75 lengths 4th over 1420m at Flemington on 19 June. Returns to a shorter trip and rates highly.

Mutinous (Gawler Race 5 No. 4):
This three-year-old Rich Enuff gelding trained by Travis Doudle has a win and two places from five starts. He led on the rails but was overpowered in the final 50m for 0.3 length 2nd over 1100m at Penola on 30 May, then got to the lead and came right away for a massive 7.7 length win over 1050m at Balaklava on 30 June. That was a strong win and he looks a good each-way chance in this 3YO BM 62 handicap.

The Brumby (Gawler Race 8 No. 10):
This three-year-old Spirit Of Boom gelding trained by Tony McAvoy is the early favourite in this BM 60 handicap over 1500m. He settled well back and chased steadily for 4.65 lengths 6th over 1600m at Ballarat on 28 April on 28 April, then ran on strongly out wide for 0.4, 0.75 lengths 3rd over 1400m at Sandown Hillside on 26 May. He has had a six week let-up and others look better value.
