Our Eagle Farm Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.
Frontman (Eagle Farm Race 2 No. 8)
This two-year-old Redoubte’s Choice colt trained by Anthony Freedman has had two starts. On debut he settled 5th, got behind the leaders on the turn and chased hard closing through the line for 0.75 length 2nd behind Lightsaber over 1300m at Sandown Hillside on 3 February. At his second start he settled 3rd but was bumped and became unbalanced at the 450m then battled after that for 4.85 lengths 5th over 1400m at Sandown Hillside on 17 February. He resumes from an 11 week let-up, gets the blinkers on for the first time and looks a major chance.
Charm Bracelet (Eagle Farm Race 1 No. 6):
This three-year-old Charm Spirit filly has two places from her three starts. She was caught wide with no cover but fought on gamely for 1.5 lengths 2nd over 1100m at Gold Coast on 3 April, then played up before the start but fought hard for 0.5 length 2nd over 1000m at Eagle Faem on 14 April. The 3kg claim will help here and she looks a nice each-way bet.
Designs (Eagle Farm Race 5 No. 10):
This three-year-old Vancouver filly is the early favourite in this QTIS 3YO handicap over 1845m. She over-raced 3 deep and chased hard for 0.3,0.5 length 3rd over 1400m at Pakenham Park on 1 April, then was slowly away and took no part in a 3YO fillies handicap over 1600m at Caulfield on 24 April. Her breeding suggests the extra distance will be no problem, but her habit of being slowly away suggests others have better chances in a race with several last start winners.
Our Moe Tips for Sunday's meeting. Key Comments The rail is true. The best bet is in the opening race of the day and looks well placed. Best Bet Poppin' Champagne (Kyneton Race 1 No.14) Can land up on the speed and prove hard to beat. Likeable claims in this field and looks suited against this bunch. Hard to beat and the price is still worth it. $1.75 Best Each Way Virtucon (Moe Race
Our Pinjarra Scarpside Horse Racing Tips for Sunday's meeting. Key Comments There are 10 races and the rail is in the true position. The feature race is the $150,000 Pinjarra Classic (race 9). Best Bet Silver Back Jack (Pinjarra Scarpside Race 8 No. 1) Silver Back Jack won over 1800m at Ascot 2 starts back, then ran 2nd to a talented mare at his most recent start over 1675m. He'll appreciate the rise in trip and is the leading hope. $3.80
Our Launceston Horse Racing Tips for Sunday. The track is a Soft 5 and the rail is in the true position. The features are the Gold Sovereign Stakes (race 5) and Tasmanian Oaks over 2100m (race 7). As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with an advantage to those who find the inside lanes in the straight. Best Bet Wings Of Song (Launceston Race 7 No. 1) Made it 4 wins
Our Ballarat Tips for Sunday's meeting. Key Comments The rail is out 1 metre from the 400m to the winning post and true for the remainder. The drop in class is ideal for the best bet who looks very well placed. Best Bet Altermatum (Ballarat Race 2 No.7) Chased home Hayasugi last start and that form has been franked again today. Looks very well placed in this company and should get a dream run from the draw. $2.70 is over the odds in
