Our Ipswich Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.
Hail Manhattan (Ipswich Race 3 No. 1)
This four-year-old Manhattan Rain gelding has had four wins and five places from 16 starts. He finished 0.5 length 2nd over 1600m at Doomben on 23 January after being hampered and forced wide, then ran on best for a narrow win over 1615m at Doomben on 4 February. He’s been going really well recently and should be hard to beat.

Man In Motion (Ipswich Race 5 No. 3):
This seven-year-old Sequalo gelding led most of the way and was swamped in the final 50m for 1.05 length 4th over 1110m at Doomben on 8 August, then led early but winded for 6.5 lengths 9th over 1050m at Toowoomba on 26 September. Resuming from a 20 week spell he has won three of five first-up attempts and has speed to burn over the 800m. Looks a great each-way bet.

Best Lay
Bellicose (Ipswich Race 6 No. 3):
This four-year-old Written Tycoon gelding is the early favourite in this 0-58 handicap over 1700m. He went too hard and finished 2.8 lengths 6th over 1800m at Sunshine Coast on 22 January, then fought on for 0.1, 2.3 lengths 3rd over 1690m at Ipswich on 3 February. This is no easier than his last start and I am prepared to risk him here.

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 5th May 2024
Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Horse Racing Tips: VIC Sunday 5th May 2024
Key Comments The best bet is in the first and was explosive on debut. Expecting all to have their chance on this track that usually plays fair. Best Bet What A Cross (Sale Race 1 No. 10) Big finale on debut and looms at likeable odds here. Was smacked in betting then and almost pulled off the plunge when flying to the line. Looks a huge chance here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker
