Our Canberra Racing Tips for Wednesdays meeting.
Californian (Canberra Race 5 No. 9)
This three-year-old Savabeel filly trained by Bjorn Baker at Warwick Farm has one wins and one place from two starts. On debut she led until the 150m where she got winded and finished 0.2, 1 length 3rd over 1400m at Kembla Grange on 2 March, then she worked her way to the front and held on for a 0.61 length win over 1600m at Orange on 21 March. She has drawn nicely in barrier 2 and has a great chance of getting back-to-back wins.

Timperley (Canberra Race 6 No. 9):
This six-year-old Rothesay gelding has only had one win but has seven places from his 17 starts. At the end of last campaign he ran 1.25, 0.1 length 3rd over 1200m at Ipswich on 17 May 2019, then he resumed after 94 weeks for 3.16, 0.69 lengths 3rd in a Class 1 Handicap over 1200m at Wyong on 9 March. He is fitter now and looks a good each-way chance again.

Best Lay
Reelclass (Canberra Race 7 No. 10):
This three-year-old filly is the early favourite in this BM 60 handicap over 1600m. She won a maiden plate by 1.22 lengths over 1400m at Gooulburn on 25 January, then was winded in the last 400m for 5.93 lengths 4th over 1400m at Goulburn on 7 February. Her opposition looks tougher here and she offers no value.

Horse Racing Tips: SA Wednesday 14th May 2025
Key Comments The track is rated good and the rail is +4 metres in the 1200m chute and +7 metres for the remainder. Best Bet Kersee (Murray Bridge Race 1 No. 10) She ran 3rd at her only start in a harder 1100m race here on 30th April. She did a few things wrong but hit the line nicely and gets Jake Toeroek this time. Top pick. Analyst: Jo Jackson Each Way
Horse Racing Tips: QLD Wednesday 14th May 2025
Key Comments The track is rated soft and the rail is +3 metres the entire circuit. As the Bat Out Of Hell over 1100m was abandoned at Gold Coast on Saturday it has been added to this meeting as race 7. Best Bet King Boom (Ipswich Race 4 No. 2) He finished 2nd over 1240m at Ipswich when resuming from a 25 week spell, after leading most of the way. Should be fitter now and should be able to go one better.
Horse Racing Tips: VIC Thursday 15th May 2025
Key Comments Night racing takes place at Pakenham. The best bet looks very hard to topple in the last and put the writing on the wall last time out. Best Bet Fabrice (Pakenham Race 8 No. 6) Good effort last time out in a race no harder than this. Drawn well, knocking on the door and looks very tough to hold out in this highly suitable affair. Key Comments Expecting all runners to have their chance on this track. The best bet was a certainty beat last time out and can atone this time around. Best Bet Cathedral Cove (Hawkesbury Race 4 No. 3) Should have won last start when given a howler ride. Maps a little sticky but should be extremely hard to beat with any luck this time around and finds a race lacking depth. Analyst: Bryce Parker
