Our Canberra Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Per Ivy (Canberra Race 2 No. 4)
With one start for one win this three-year-old filly has started  her career well. Trained by Matthew Snith she chased hard to prevail in the final stages for a 0.4 length win over 1000m at Wyong on 25 November. Since then she was a close 2nd in an open trial at Warwick Farm. Perfectly drawn in barrier one she can win again.

Yesterday’s Gone (Canberra Race 4 No. 3):
This four-year-old Fighting Sun mare trained by Keith Dryden has only had one start. She took over at the 200m and looked the winner but found one better in  the final stages to finish 0.6 length 2nd over 1000m at Warren on 10 December. Should have benefitted from that experience and looks worth an each-way wager on her home track.

Mr Magical (Canberra Race 7 No. 1):
This five-year-old Magic Albert gelding trained by Jamie Stewart has six wins and three places from 13 starts and is the early favourite in this Open Handicap over 1000m.  At the end of last campaign he won three races in a row at Moruya and the Sapphire Coast. Resumes here after 26 weeks with a big weight and the outside barrier. Prepared to risk him in this tougher race.

Key Comments An 8 race meeting on the turf where the rail is in the true position. The track rating is soft. Best Bet Durban Harbour (Sunshine Coast Race 4 No. 1) Finished strongly to run 4th over 1600m here last start and was clearly looking for longer. Strong chance. Key Comments The sand track is rated Good and the weather is overcast. Best Bet Altar Boy (Alice Springs Race 7 No. 3) Won 4 in a row at this track before runner-up last start. Gets a big swing in the weights against Beau Factor that beat him last time and looks the leading hope. Horse Racing Tips: NSW Sunday 15th September 2024

Key Comments The track is in the heavy range. Looking for runners that will handle the conditions. The best bet has the pole position and will take beating in what is a suitable race. The feature race is the Bathurst Cup (race 7). Best Bet Phobos (Bathurst Race 2 No. 1) Maps for a dream run from the pole position with J-Vo riding. This race looks very much within reach and ran a credible fourth when resuming. Wouldn't have to improve much to

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 15th September 2024

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Best Bet Golden Prophet (Devonport Race 2 No. 2) Showed improvement when stepping
