Affinity Beyond (Canberra Race 4 No. 8)
This four-year-old Starspangledbanner mare trained by Luke Pepper has three wins and two places from eight starts. She resumed after 46 weeks for a 1.54 length win over 1050m at Wagga on 28 November, then jumped awkwardly and was winded late for 3.6 lengths 6th over 1000m at Randwick on 12 December. Since then she won a Canberra trial and is a leading hope.

Each Way
Designer Dance (Canberra Race 6 No. 3):
This six-year-old mare has had two wins and eight places from 16 starts and has been placed at her last three runs. She drove to the front and looked the winner but peaked late to finish 0.1,0.8 lengths 3rd over 1400m at Nowra on 6 December, then chased hard for 0.8 lengths 2nd in a Highway Class 2 handicap over 1300m at Randwick on 19 December. She looks a good each-way chance again.

Best Lay
Fuchsia Rose (Canberra Race 3 No. 7):
This three-year-old Vancouver filly is the early favourite in this maiden handicap over 1400m and has recently changed trainers from Chris Waller to Keith Dryden in Canberra. She has raced twice for 9.4 lengths 7th over 1200m at Kembla Grange on 24 October, then made some ground from well back in the field for 6.5 lengths 8th over 1500m at Kembla Grange on 14 November. She looks too short a price on her form to date.

Key Comments The track is in the soft range. The best bet comes up towards the end of the day and can resume a winner after a last start flop prior to being sent to the paddock. Best Bet Baggage Handler (Albury Race 7 No. 4) Big win 2 starts back and last time out failed as a very short favourite. Trials have been rock solid since then, including a very good second on this track and looks well placed to take this

Key Comments The feature is the $100,000 Mungrup Sprint over 1300 metres (race 7). The track is rated good and the rail is in the true position. Best Bet Parc It In Here (Mount Barker Race 3 No. 3) Tends to settle well back in the field and runs home strongly. Won at Albany 2 starts back then was 0.7 length off the winner last start. The rise in distance should suit and he looks the testing material. Check odds on SmartB
