Geelong Cats v Melbourne Demons (Thursday Night)

The early betting has been interesting in this game.  To my surprise Geelong opened a clear favourite when markets went up last week.  Melbourne was subsequently backed into favourite however with the news dropping yesterday that Clayton Oliver will miss again for the Dees the market has swung back to make the Cats a 0.5 favourite at the time of writing this article.

The big advantage for the Cats and the main reason they are favourite is that this game is to be played in Geelong rather than at the MCG.  Melbourne also come off the bye which has proven challenging in recent times.  All that being said I just think the Demons recent form is far superior and the loss of Dangerfield for the Cats negates the loss of Oliver for the Dees.  Has the market forgotten the Melbourne beat Collingwood with out him?

Suggested Bet – Melbourne (Win)

Sydney Swans v West Coast Eagles (Saturday)

We had a good result backing against West Coast a couple of weeks ago and I see no reason not to take them on again here.  The Swans arn’t exactly flying but I thought they were okay at the Gabba last week and are set to get some key players back for this.  The Eagles injury list remains lengthy and I’m not sure coming off the bye is going to help them in any way.  They have very little to play for.

Suggested Bet – Sydney (Line)
