Spangler | (Randwick-Kensington Race 7 No.7)

We are waiting until the last for the best on the card, and I have landed with this Starspangledbanner gelding who is making his Australian debut. He has had two trials in the lead-up to this one, with his latest trial, despite finishing a 2.4 length sixth, was a pretty good trial. He will take a lot of improvement from those trials and he has the right draw and jockey to be competitive. He had two starts in England for a win first-up on heavy going and a second on good going by half a length, so the conditions at hand should not bother him. Regardless of the outcome, he will improve even further from the run but I believe he can really give this race a shake.

Current Price: $3.30

Each Way

Chateaux Park | (Randwick-Kensington Race 4 No.4)

This Ocean Park gelding ticks a lot of boxes coming into this contest. He is fighting fit, handles all conditions, has won/competed well over the distance prior and he has won well in this grade in the past. The outside draw won’t worry him as he goes back anyway and he won’t be giving up too much of a start being a smaller field. Jason Collett jumping aboard is nothing but positive, and I expect him to be right in the finish.

Current Price: $6.00/$2.10

Best Bet Slippin' Jimmy (Sunshine Coast Race 2 No. 1) Last start winner over 1200m at Kilcoy and has won at Sunshine Coast before. Has drawn the inside barrier and should be hard to beat. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each Way Merchant Flyer (Sunshine Coast Race 8 No. 5) He made ground late for a 1.3 length

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 19th May 2024

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Best Bet Weldborough (Devonport Race 9 No. 3) Won by 2.5 lengths over
