Saskatoon | (Gawler Race 5 No. 7)
The son of Star Turn was formerly with the Hawkes camp when he raced in Victoria, where he actually ran some nice races. He won his debut run at Cranbourne before being sent for a spell and on resumption, ran a credible third despite being wide without cover followed by a good second behind Gundec where he was held up near the turn. He is now in the hands of Richard and Chantelle Jolly and has since had a solid jump out in preparation for this. He is drawn ideally with Jake Toeroek taking the reins and with even luck, should be right in the finish.

Shopster | (Gawler Race 6 No. 11)
This daughter of Ambidexter was tough last time out at this track and distance. She was headed around 100m – 50m out before fighting back and making it tight on the line. She has had quite an interrupted preparation, having thumps after her second-up run and she was held up third-up and arguably should have finished in the top three. Kayla Crowther sticks after she rode her last start, and the inside draw is nothing but positive as I expect her to kick up and be prominent again. She should be at peak fitness now and with the rail out to 3m, she is right up to this.

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 5th May 2024
Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Horse Racing Tips: VIC Sunday 5th May 2024
Key Comments The best bet is in the first and was explosive on debut. Expecting all to have their chance on this track that usually plays fair. Best Bet What A Cross (Sale Race 1 No. 10) Big finale on debut and looms at likeable odds here. Was smacked in betting then and almost pulled off the plunge when flying to the line. Looks a huge chance here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker
