Our Canberra Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.
Easy Rosie (Canberra Race 6 No. 4)
With one win and five places from six starts this three-year-old filly has never finished worse than 4th. She kept coming late to finish 0.2 length 3rd over 1200m at Canberra on 12 December, then led on the rails but was outgunned late for 0.3 length 2nd over 1280m at Orange on 28 December. Jeff Penza has had success on her previously and she looks ready to win.

Zachariah (Canberra Race 7 No. 9):
This four-year-old Deep Field gelding trained by Gary Portelli has had one win and two places from 10 starts. Last campaign he finished 5.2 lengths 4th on heavy going over 1500m at Kembla Grange on 25 May, then battled on for 5.8 lengths 5th over 1500m at Goulburn on 7 June. Resumes from a 31 week spell and won first-up last campaign. Looks a nice each-way bet.

Baledon (Canberra Race 2 No. 2):
This four-year-old Foxwedge gelding trained by Ron Stubbs at Albury has two wins and two places from nine starts and is the early favourite in this BM 60 Handicap over 1600m. He won by 1.2 lengths in a Class 1 handicap over 1500m at Albury on 11 December, then worked home well for 1.2 lengths 4th over 1400m at Corowa on 28 December. Gets a big weight here and is drawn wide. Prepared to risk him.

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 5th May 2024
Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Horse Racing Tips: VIC Sunday 5th May 2024
Key Comments The best bet is in the first and was explosive on debut. Expecting all to have their chance on this track that usually plays fair. Best Bet What A Cross (Sale Race 1 No. 10) Big finale on debut and looms at likeable odds here. Was smacked in betting then and almost pulled off the plunge when flying to the line. Looks a huge chance here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker
