Our Ipswich Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.
Demurral (Ipswich Race 4 No. 3)
This five-year-old Not a Single Doubt gelding trained by David Vandyke has four wins and three places from 11 starts. He kept coming gamely for 0.3 lengths 3rd over 1400m at Sunshine Coast on 3 October, then came from last to do best late and win by 0.5 length over 1800m at Sunshine Coast on 5 November. Ryan Maloney retains the ride and he looks the main hope.

The Tyler (Ipswich Race 8 No. 5):
This five-year-old Tycoon Ruler geldiung trained by Linsay Hatch has two wins from six starts. At the end of his last campaign in 2020 he was checked, lost his position and didn’t run on for 6.5 lengths 10th over 1300m at Toowoomba on 5 April. He was off the track for 84 weeks and resumed for 1.5 lengths 4th where he was making ground in the final 150m over 1110m at Toowoomba on 20 November. Won at his only other second-up attempt, and looks a nice each-way bet.

Key Comments The track is Soft and the rail is +4 metres the entire circuit. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Best Bet Sky Land (Hobart Race 1 No. 10) This 2YO filly takes on the older horses here but has been very game

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Sunday 28th April 2024
Key Comments 8 race card with a few short favourites that look hard to beat. The best bet comes up in race 5 and is knocking on the door for a win. Best Bet Subrising (Ballarat Race 5 No. 6) Comes off the back of 2 second placings and Egan will ride from the wide draw. A lot to like about the past few runs and looks a better hope than the favourite who may just get too far back in this.
