Our Grafton Horse Racing Tips for Wednesdays meeting.

Tara Jasmine (Grafton Race 7 No. 2)
This four-year-old Cowboy Blue mare trained by John Shelton has five wins and three places from 11 starts. She came from second-last with a powerful run to win by 2 lengths over 1175m at Grafton on 28 September, then was slowly away but finished best for a 2.2 length win in the Jacaranda Prelude over 1106m at Grafton on 19 October. She rises 4.5 kg from that run, but still looks good enough to win this Jacaranda Cup.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Old Timing Man (Grafton Race 8 No.3):
This five-year-old Trusting gelding trained by Shane Everson has three wins and five places from 25 starts. He settled 2nd last and made good ground in the final 200m to finish 4.4 lengths 7th over 1200m at Port Macquarie on 9 October, then led before being run down late for 0.2 length 2nd over 1181m at Grafton on 26 October. Likely to race on the speed and looks a good each-way bet.

$5.50

Best Lay

Bold Contender (Grafton Race 4 No. 1):
This five-year-old Ocean Park gelding trained by Andrew Parramore has one win and eight places from 14 starts. He ran on strongly from 9th to finish 0.2 length 2nd over 2020m at Murwillumbah on 11 October, then came from last for 1.3 lengths  2nd over 2110m at Lismore on 17 October. Gets a long way back in his races and I’m prepared to risk him here.

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 28th April 2024

Key Comments The track is Soft and the rail is +4 metres the entire circuit. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Best Bet Sky Land (Hobart Race 1 No. 10) This 2YO filly takes on the older horses here but has been very game
