Staralign (Kalgoorlie Race 5 No. 2)
This six-year-old Universal Ruler gelding trained by Peter Fernie has eight wins and 12 places from 29 starts. On resuming from a 10 week let-up he was held-up badly from the 400m to 100m and finished 1.9 lengths 2nd, then was a 0.2 length winner over 1300m at Kalgoorlie on 19 September. Is a track specialist with six wins and five places from 12 runs here, and looks the leading hope.

Yoyo’s (Kalgoorlie Race 4 No. 8):
This four-year-old Universal Ruler mare trained by Luke Fernie has one win and three places from nine starts. she ran on strongly to take over at the 100m and got away nicely for a 1.9 length win in an 1100m maiden at Kalgoorlie on 15 August, then was held up the entire straight and was never really tested when 6.5 lengths 10th over 1200m at Kalgoorlie on 19 September. Ignore her last run as she is a good each-way chance.

Campese (Kalgoorlie Race 6 No. 1):
This five-year-old Toronado gelding trained by Michael Lane is the early favourite in this One Metro Win Graduation Handicap over 1600m. He was blocked for most of the straight and finished 6.2 lengths when favourite over 1400m at Belmont on 4 September, then was sent out favourite again before finishing 2.1 lengths 5th over 1300m at Belmont on 18 September.
