Our Moonee Valley Horse Racing Tips for Saturday’s meeting.

Hilal (Moonee Valley Race 6 No. 4)

Talented colt under the care of Michael, Wayne & John Hawkes.  His back to back Group 1 placings in the Sires Produce Stakes & Champagne Stakes in the Autumn read very well for this.  He will be better as he gets over further but has shown enough pace in his two recent trials to suggest he can settle in behind a generous speed here and get over the top of these late.

$2.40

Each Way

Heir To The Throne (Moonee Valley Race 5 No. 4):

Heir To The Throne is airborne this preparation.  He won at Sale three starts ago, closed strongly from the back to finish fourth here two starts ago, then won again at Sandown despite racing three wide with no cover for the first half of the race.  He should be at peak fitness now and looks to get a lovely run from barrier eight for Jamie Kah.

$7.50

Best Lay

Front Page (Moonee Valley Race 3 No. 4):

Front Page is rated a $3.60 chance in race three on the card.  He is a talented galloper having won four of seven but bumps into the smart Corner Pocket here and looks vulnerable off the back of a lengthy spell.  Willing to risk at the current quote.
