Our Ballarat Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Chief Altony (Ballarat Race 7 No. 9)

Lightly raced four year old trained by Alex Rae at Cranbourne.  He ran well to finish second here first up behind the subsequent smart Warrnambool winner Corner Pocket.  Much better suited stepping to 1400m with a run under the belt.  Hard to beat.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Tadashi Hamada (Ballarat Race 9 No. 5):

Tadashi Hamada has had two runs back from a spell.  He worked home well to finish second at Geelong first up, then got way too far back at Warrnambool last time but still hit the line well.  He looks set to peak here third up and has no problem handling rain affected ground.

Best Lay

She’s Booming (Ballarat Race 5 No. 14):

She’s Booming has had two starts for one win and a second.  She did a good job to lead and win her maiden last time however she is unlikely to get the same control here from a wide barrier in a strong benchmark 64.  Unproven on a wet track as well.
