Our Pakenham Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Reciprocation (Pakenham Race 5 No. 4)

This son of Tornado was an impressive debut winner at Benalla in October.  He ran good time beating Yulong Command who has since won three races (two in town) and there was a big gap back to third.  He resumes here off the back of two solid jump outs and from barrier five should be able to land in the front half of the field and sprint home over the top.  He looks city class.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Lady D’oro (Pakenham Race 7 No. 3):

Lady D’oro hit the line strongly to finish second at Sale first up.  She has one win and a second from her two previous second up runs and shouldn’t have any issues with a rain affected track.  She should be able to settle closer in the run this time and if there is a chink in the favourite Kurabui’s armor she can take advantage.

Our John Boy (Pakenham Race 1 No. 5):

Our John Boy has come up as a short price favourite in the opening race on the card.  He finished second in a weak Kilmore maiden on debut and is a month between runs into this.  The logical danger is Ain’t She Cute who is coming out of a stronger race at Bendigo and I would rather back her at the current prices.  They look the only two chances.

Key Comments The track is in the heavy 10 range. The rail is in 3 metres. The best bet has heavy form and looks a big hope with Gibbons steering. Best Bet Bellascent (Wyong Race 4 No. 6) Excellent run last start almost pulling off the win at decent odds. That was on heavy ground and it got within .2 of the winner.
