Our Taree Horse Racing Tips for Tuesdays meeting.

Patino Ruby (Taree Race 2 No. 2)
This three-year-old More Than Ready filly trained by Brett Cavanough at Scone has two wins and a place from three starts. At her 2nd start she led all the way for a 0.92 length win over 1000m at Muswellbrook on 3 November before spelling for 15 weeks. On resuming she led all the way for a 2.1 length win over 900m at Scone on soft going on 16 February. She has won a recent trial and with her speed should be able to win again.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Sancta (Taree Race 6 No. 8):
This three-year-old So You Think filly trained by Adam Duggan at Gosford has one win and one place from three starts. She held her ground for 1.92 lengths 4th over 1100m at Mudgee on 4 April, then chased solidly, levelled up at the 200m, came clear at the 100m and kept going for a 0.82 length win over 1200m at Port Macquarie on 26 April. She looks nicely placed and is worth an each-way bet.

Best Lay

Deora (Taree Race 1 No. 3):
This three-year-old Deep Field gelding has one placing from nine starts and is the early favourite in this maiden plate over 1250m. He hit the line strongly for 1.47 lengths 4th over 1000m at Port Macquarie on 16 April, then had to be steadied at the 500m and din’t run on when 7.11 lengths 4th over 1100m at Gosford on 25 April. Has drawn nicely but offers no value here.

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 19th May 2024

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Best Bet Weldborough (Devonport Race 9 No. 3) Won by 2.5 lengths over
