Our Oakbank Racing Tips for Saturdays meeting.

Sisstar (Oakbank Race 7 No. 2)
This four-year-old Zoustar mare trained by Tony McEvoy has had 14 starts for five wins and two places. At the end of last campaign she was a 0.4 length winner of the Magic Millions 3&$YO Classic over 1100m at Ballarat and then was spelled. Resuming after 16 weeks she won by 0.5 lengths over 955m at Moonee Valley on 19 March. She looks well-placed for another win.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Ourkhani (Oakbank Race 6 No. 5):
This five-year-old Dalakhani gelding trained by Richard and Chantelle Jolly has placed at four of his five starts this campaign. He worked home solidly for 0.1 length 2nd where the rider dropped his whip at the 100m and he was outbobbed on the line over 2500m at Murray Bridge on 27 February, then he lost his position when onto heels before battling away for 2.5 lengths 2nd over 2400m at Morphettville Parks on 20 March. He is worth an each-way bet again.

Best Lay

Liam’s The Boss (Oakbank Race 8 No. 10):
This four-year-old gelding is the early favourite in this Country Cup BM 72 handicap over 1900m. He finished 4.9 lengths 9th over 1600m at Kembla Grange on 2 March, then was winded late for 4.49 lengths 5th over 1900m at Gosford on 13 March. He is having his first start for a new trainer and has only won once in 15 starts. I am happy to risk him here.

Key Comments The feature races are the Adelaide Guineas (race 6), Queen Elizabeth II Cup (race 7) and the South Australian Derby (race 8). The track is good and the rail is +2 metres from the 1200m to the winning post and true for the remainder. Best Bet The Map (Morphettville Race 7 No. 2) She’s has had a 7 week let-up after just missing in the Adelaide Cup and comes off a trial win at Balaklava. Going really well this campaign and

Key Comments Wagga Cup Day. The Gold Cup is the feature and it is race 7. The best bet is in the feature. Best Bet Fawkner Park (Wagga Riverside Race 7 No. 7) Happy to risk him with the wide draw. Last win was so dominant and you can fan wide and win on this track. Very difficult barrier but backing in Schiller. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker Each Way Cruizingdafield (Wagga

Best Bet Gentileschi (Hawkesbury Race 3 No. 9) Has stacks of upside and a lot to like about the past 2 wins. Rises in grade but looks a promising type that can notch up another win here. Key Comments The features are the Dalrello Stakes (race 6), Victory Stakes (race 8) and the Queensland Guineas (race 9). The track is soft and the rail is +7 metres the entire circuit. Best Bet Typhoon Taavi (Eagle Farm Race 3 No. 3) This mare from the Tony Gollan stable has won her last 2 races by big margins. She has heaps of natural speed and gets a 3kg claim for Tahlia Fenton who has had success on her before. Leading hope. Check
