Our Murray Bridge Racing Tips for Saturdays meeting.

Don’tdreamit’sover (Murray Bridge Race 1 No. 5)
This five-year-old gelding trained by Michael Hickmott has had eight starts for two wins and four places. He worked home strongly and won by 0.2 lengths over 1541m at Morphettville on 12 December, then chased strongly to share the lead at the 150m but was outgunned late for 0.3 length 2nd over 1600m at Morphettville on 18 December. Looks the one they have to beat.

How to pick a winner

Each Way

Lady Pavil Chenko (Murray Bridge Race 5 No. 8):
This four-year-old Shooting To Win mare has two wins and five places from 14 starts. She weakened right out in the straight to finish 11 lengths 8th over 1250m at Morphettville Parks on 3 October then had a 23 week break and resumed for 2.4 lengths 4th over 1100m at Gawler on 2 January where she was held up and flew home once clear. She has a good record at this track and looks a good each-way chance.

Best Lay

Tibetan (Murray Bridge Race 6 No. 1):
This four-year-old gelding is the early favourite in this No metropolitan wins handicap over 1800m. He worked home solidly for 0.2, 0.4 lengths 3rd over 2000m at Morphettville on 19 September where he pulled up lame, then battled away for 3.5 lengths 4th over 1400m at Murray Bridge on 9 January. The 1.5 kg claim will help but he doesn’t represent value.

Key Comments The track is rated Soft and the rail is +0.5 metres from the 1000m to the winning post and +1.5 metres for the remainder. Best Bet Chilli Jam (Townsville Race 7 No. 16) She is absolutely flying and has won all 4 starts this campaign. She gets a 3 kg claim for Isabella Teh who rode her last start for a 3 length win. Can make it 5 in a row. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson

Key Comments The rail is true. The best bet can land us a win in the first. Best Bet Blue Steel (Quirindi Race 1 No. 3) Has been sound in both efforts to date and this race lacks any depth. The 5th last start is better than it reads on paper and that is in a race much harder than this. Goes in the mix here. Key Comments A big 10 race card takes place. The rail is in 3 metres. The track usually suits those who can sustain a long run to the line. That will suit the best bet who loves racing here and comes up later in the day. Best Bet Swanston (Grafton Race 7 No. 2) Has a booming turn of foot and while Swanston doesn't have the easiest pattern to catch, this track does suit and that shows with the 9 placings from 16

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Tuesday 30th April 2024

Key Comments The Warrnambool carnival kicks off and the 2?? feature races of day one are the Vobis Gold Strike (race 5) & the Merlin Handicap (race 7). The best bet has a superb first up record and brings in the class factor. The rail is true. Best Bet Claidheamh Mor (Warrnambool Race 8 No. 1) Brings in a brilliant first up record, maps to lead the field and relishes soft conditions. The early price has been taken and this 5yo Gelding has
