Big Bash Match Previews & Tips – 19th January

The Perth Scorchers face the Brisbane Heat tonight in a crucial clash for both clubs with finals just around the corner.

The Scorchers five game winning streak was brought to an end by the top of the table Sydney Sixers on Saturday night.

The Scorchers, batting first, made a fast start but lost crucial wickets at regular intervals in the middle of the innings, which slowed their scoring.  They posted what looked a sub par 163.  Liam Livingstone again a shining light with the bat – he made 67.

In reply the Sixers made a fast start and the Scorchers weren’t able to take the necessary wickets to peg them back.  The men in Pink going on to chase down the total in the 19th over.

The Brisbane Heat had a scare or two against the Melbourne Renegades but found a way to come away from that game with the points. Chris Lynn continued on with his consistent run of form since returning from a hamstring injury – he made 50.

I am huge wrap from the Scorchers but I think the value lies with the Heat tonight.  The Heat are one of the inform sides of the competition so it is a little bit surprising to see them as long as they are in the early head to head markets.  Perth are also still without Mitch Marsh.
