Melbourne Stars v Sydney Sixers @ MCG

Both teams enter this game 2&1 with top spot on the BBL ladder on the line.

It was a one-sided affair when they met in their season opener at the SCG on December 5.  After piling on a monster score of 213 batting first the Sixers restricted the Stars to just 61.  However there was no Marcus Stoinis on that occasion or Andre Russell who has already made his presence felt since joining the Stars.  The West Indian made a quick fire 17* not out in game two and then was instrumental in their run chase against the Thunder on Sunday night with 42 not out off 21 balls.

The Stars have a slight edge in the batting although I think the edge is minimal with both sides batting orders littered with world class talent.  On the other hand the Sixers rate significantly better with the ball.  They simply have no weakness in this area where as the Stars have very few bowlers who can be relied upon to bowl their four overs with out risk of going for big runs.

Two bet play in this.

Backing the Sydney Sixers as a slight outsider in the head to head market (I marked them favourite)  and Moses Henrquies Top Run scorer for the Sydney Sixers – he has made 2 x 70’s to start the tournament and is overs at $6 with the TAB.
