The Buffering Race History
The Buffering is a race where the winner gains entry to the $1million Magic Millions Cup held 2 weeks later. Due to the big prizemoney it attracts top quality sprinters. It was held over 1400m at Eagle Farm in December 2019 and January 2021 then over 1350m at Doomben in January 2022, December 2022 and December 2023. It returns to Eagle Farm in 2024.
The Magic Millions Wildcard Exemption means the winner gains automatic entry to the Restricted Listed Magic Millions Cup held on Magic Millions Raceday at Gold Coast Turf Club in January.
